Vestry

The Vestry of the church serves somewhat like a “Church Board,” but it also goes much deeper. The Vestry acts as the “agents and legal representatives of the Parish in all matters concerning its corporate property and the relations of the Parish to its Clergy” (Canon 14 Sec. 2). The parish elects members of the Vestry to three-year terms. A Treasurer and Secretary of the Vestry are chosen by the Rector and not elected by the parish. As members of the Vestry, they also help to guide and lead the parish on various parish committees. Serving on the Vestry is one of many ways that a member of St. Paul’s can be a minister of the church.
