Messiah Sing-Along Concert Fundraiser
on Saturday, November 9, 2024
at 1 p.m. in the church at 215 Ann Street, Beaufort, NC.
Concert-goers will have the chance to participate in and enjoy a portion of G.F. Handel’s monumental oratorio, Messiah, as both the audience and choir. Professional soloists and orchestra musicians will accompany the concert. The concert will consist of Part One of Messiah along with select movements, such as the Hallelujah Chorus and Worthy Is the Lamb, from later parts of the work.
Tickets for the event are $25 and may be purchased online here
or in-person with cash at Marée at 119 Turner Street in Beaufort.
Tickets may be available at the door on the day of the event,
but availability and seating are not guaranteed.
Bring Your Own Score
Attendees must supply their own copy of Messiah (The New Novello Choral Edition preferred), and copies may be ordered via general music publishers or Amazon. Unfortunately, music scores will not be available on the day of the event, so make sure to order your copy in plenty of time. You can order a score here.
Why Are We Raising Money?
Proceeds from the event will support the St. Paul’s Parish Choir on their 2025 Summer Choir Tour to Scotland and England and the St. Paul’s Music Scholars Program. In July of 2025, the St. Paul’s Choir will join forces with Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina’s choir Schola Cantorum as well as St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Choir from Raleigh on a 10-day tour with choral residencies at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland and Carlisle Cathedral in Carlisle, England. Members of the St. Paul’s Music Scholars Program, a group of local high-school and college students who are members of the musicians and scholarship program at St. Paul’s, will participate in the tour as well.
