St. Paul’s Music Scholars – What Scholars Should Expect from St. Paul’s
We Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As constituent members of the Anglican Communion in the United States, we are descendants of and partners with the Church of England and the Scottish Episcopal Church, and are part of the third largest group of Christians in the world.
We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world.
We have a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God, and can be expressed by all people in our church, regardless of sexual identity or orientation.
We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.
Amidst the beauty of earth and sky and sea, Saint Paul’s church has welcomed the people of God and worked on their behalf for almost 175 years. Anchored by God’s Love, Moved by the Church’s Sacraments, Empowered by the Holy Spirit and Nourishing the world in Jesus’ name we say AMEN to all the ways in which God is at work in the world about us. There is room in our pews for all of God’s children, no exceptions for God’s way is The Way of Love. We invite you to be part of the people of God, in the Episcopal branch of the Jesus movement. Your life will never be the same.
–The Rev. Tambria (Tammy) E. Lee, Rector
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
“I want to be very clear: This church of ours is open to all — there will be no outcasts —
the convictions and hopes of all will be honored.”
– The Rt. Rev. Edmond L. Browning, 24th Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church
St. Paul’s is an inclusive and welcoming community. While we cannot guarantee there may not be bumps along the way, we are dedicated to learning and growing as we experience the depth and diversity of all people. Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome here.
“The Episcopal Church is faithfully seeking to truly become ‘a house of prayer for all people,’”
–The Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, 27th (and current) Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church

What We Provide: No Cost to Scholars
St. Paul’s does not expect the Scholars to incur expenses as a part of the program. Any costs directly associated with participating as a Scholar will be covered by St. Paul’s. Scholars are not expected pay for the cost of their music, their choir vestments, travel for off campus events, or choir retreats.
