Ushers

Ushering is an act of love and service just like singing in the choir, volunteering with the Altar Guild, serving on the Fellowship Committee, or working with our Youth. To me, ushering is loving God by serving God’s people as they come to God’s house to worship. Ushering invariably leaves me with a good feeling after each service. It leaves me feeling I have tried to serve God, in some small way, for the many blessings that He has bestowed upon me. Whether it is greeting God’s people as they come to worship, helping someone find a seat when the church is crowded, assisting someone who needs a helping hand getting to the communion rail, or taking up the collection, these are all acts of love and service to God through assistance and service to God’s people. Ushering is very easy to learn and is a minimal time commitment. Currently individual ushers average ushering about one Sunday service per month. Conflicts with a scheduled service are no problem as there is a long list of ushers, along with their phone numbers, and other ushers are always ready to fill in. If you think you might want to serve as an usher, contact me, Sam Williams, or talk to any usher at any service. We welcome you and God welcomes you even more!
