Adult Formation

Adult Formation or Christian Education finds its mandate in the Baptismal Covenant. Our work , as followers of Jesus Christ, is to reflect that love in thought, word and deed. Discipleship is something that we learn by example as well as by being taught via a classroom. We promise to “ turn to Christ and accept him as our Lord and Savior.” We promise “ to put our whole trust in His grace and love.” We promise to “ respect the dignity of every human being.” We will ,with God’s help , “ continue in the apostle’s teaching and fellowship , in the breaking of the bread, and in the prayers.” Adult Formation helps us to keep these promises and vows by teaching us what they look like in practice. We gather as God’s people to explore the meaning of scripture, to ask what constitutes ethical behavior in the public and private realms, to learn how to pray, and to listen for the still small voice of God in a common meal. Small groups, bible studies, Sunday morning forums and book groups are offered throughout the week and on Sunday mornings helping us to grow into the full stature of Christ.
